President's Message
Welcome to the City of New York Chapter of the Club Managers Association of America. We are proud to have represented CMAA in New York City for more than 90 years. Embracing the mission and themes of our parent organization, we strive to offer stimulating and informative education, promote the useful exchange of ideas as well as encouraging the camaraderie of our members.
At monthly meetings as well as other educational forums we present pertinent information which can only enhance the performance and subsequently the careers of private club managers in New York. We encourage all those engaged in the management of clubs, at various levels, to join our organization as well as the parent association, to attain invaluable tools for career development.

CMCNY Members visit the East 3rd Street Men's Shelter
Thank you letter
Saturday November 21, 2009
Hello Wesson,
What an exciting moment for me to walk into the East 3rd Street Men's Shelter and see the residents at the dining room tables partaking in plates of salmon, salads, chicken, rice with seafood, apple tarts, and much more, and see you and the members and staff from the Club Managers Association of America serving that delicious menu with such verve and such sincerity, with sweat on your brow and smiles on your faces. I could feel the excitement in the room, and see how much it meant to those men, to have people they don't even know cook and serve for them such a fine meal. We know that in American culture today food is so much more than sustenance, it can be a way to bring people together, it can be an expression of family and community.
That long line of residents patiently waiting to partake, the look of pleasure as they ate, told the whole story. I heard one resident say, "They should come back every day!", and another retorted, "But nobody would ever leave!"
After discussing and planning the event with you for the past number of weeks, it was also a special privilege to finally meet you. Your wonderful sense of humor, patience and great taste in baseball teams, made it a treat. I look forward to continue to work with on other projects.
Please pass along my appreciation and thanks to your Chefs and to everyone who made the event happen, and who, for one rainy November evening, made a Lower East Side Men's shelter into Manhattan's happiest private club.
Thanks,
Antonio
